Edgar C. Buck
Dr. Buck (Ohio State ’69), 81, Willcox, Arizona, died October 23, 2022. Dr. Buck subsequently came to be a companion at Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.
Jay M. Humburg
Dr. Humburg (Kansas State ’57), 89, Auburn, Alabama, died February 3, 2023. He started his occupation in Broken Bow, Nebraska, where he exercised big pet medicine for numerous years. In 1967, Dr. Humburg joined a U.S. Agency for International Development project in Nigeria via Kansas State University, assisting in the establishment of a veterinary institution in the country. From 1973-2000, he acted as a professor of large animal surgery and medication at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Humburg after that transferred to Grenada, West Indies, where he signed up with St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine. He retired as a notable professor in 2015.
Dr. Humburg was a diplomate as well as a previous head of state of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners and also belonged to the American Association of Equine Practitioners. William A. “Drew” Parker
Dr. Parker (Louisiana State ’09), 39, Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away January 2, 2023. Following college graduation and after making a master’s in bird medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, he began his occupation as a technological solutions veterinarian for Zoetis in Fayetteville. Dr. Parker after that signed up with Phibro Animal Health in Fayetteville, acting as an elderly vet for the past eight years.

John T. Vaughan
Dr. Vaughan (Auburn ’55), 90, Auburn, Alabama, died January 13, 2023. From 1977-95, he served as dean of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Following college graduation, Dr. Vaughan practiced briefly in Tuskegee, Alabama. Dr. Vaughan went on to teach huge pet surgical treatment at the vet college. Dr. Vaughan after that returned to the vet college at Auburn University, offering as division head of huge pet medicine and also surgery until being named dean in 1977.
Dr. Vaughan was a diplomate and also a previous president of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Dr. Vaughan was called the Alabama VMA’s Veterinarian of the Year in 1985. In 1999, the AAEP honored Dr. Vaughan as a Distinguished Life Member.
