COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI)– A pet civil liberties team is supplying an incentive of up to $5,000 to anybody that can provide info causing the arrest of whoever deserted a pet dog in Coventry earlier this week.
The canine was discovered unresponsive within a whized soft cooler bag near the Walmart on Centre of New England Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Monday, according to cops.
The female Chihuahua was rushed to a local vet medical facility, yet despite the efforts of veterinarians, cops stated she needed to be humanely euthanized.
Upon becoming aware of the examination, PETA introduced Friday that it’s using the benefit to any individual that can give info on the canine or its owner.
“This dog needed vet treatment or to be required to an animal sanctuary, yet rather, a person sealed her up inside a bag and also left her for dead on the roadside,” PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien said. “PETA advises any person with information about this pet ahead forward immediately to make sure that the individual who left her to die and suffer can be held accountable.”
The pet dog was in between 3-7 years old, had brown hair and also weighed about 8-10 pounds. Police stated she had no collar, tags or silicon chip indicating who her owner was or where she originated from.
Any individual with any kind of info concerning the case is asked to speak to Coventry Animal Control at (401) 822-9106 of the Coventry Police Department by phone at (401) 826-1100 or by emailing.
