As a Licensed Veterinary Technician your tasks will include yet are not limited to; helping the vets in the Practice of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery, in-patient and out-patient treatment, specialist evaluations, research laboratory duties, treatments, medicine dosages and giving, surgical procedure tasks, dental care, clinical record symbols and upkeep, housekeeping obligations throughout the facility, management tasks, stock, OSHA understanding, and conformity, phenomenal client service and preserving a practical expertise of the hospital services, plans, and treatments.
Responsibilities and duties – A Veterinary Technician deals with pets that enter into the center and maintains the facility itself. A Veterinary Technician might have the following duties:
Providing general nursing care Examining pets and inspecting vitals in prep work for the Veterinarian Taking X-rays of animals Administering emergency treatment for emergencies Administering drug and therapies Drawing blood samples for screening Monitoring pets under anesthetic
Work Qualifications:
NY State Veterinary Technician License Working expertise of the drugs that are prescribed by the Veterinarian Honesty Integrity Compassion/ Empathy Sense of humor Desire to be successful at your task Computer literate Must have the ability to raise 40 # by yourself
The setting will certainly call for training, carrying, and limiting pets, strolling or standing for prolonged time periods and regularly operating in a curved or squatting placements.
Salary range: $18.00 – $25.00/ hour, depending upon skills and experience.
